Fly Tying Tool: Taking the Mess Out of Fly Fishing | #Flyfishing #FlyTying #ad

FreedomWild Outdoors LLC

It is no secret that my family loves to fish.  We are always looking for a better way to catch more fish while keeping our sanity alive.  One thing that we don't get a chance to do as often as we like is fly-fishing.  It is hard to keep track of all of the small feather-tied fly lures and with children, organization is key.

My father used to go on week long trips to Mono Lake, California and New Zealand to try his hand at fly-fishing.  I remember seeing his beautiful flies spread around his work bench in a jumble of feathers, hooks and string.  At the time, I didn't understand the love that went into each fly that was a work of art.  In fact, my sister loved the flies so much, she cut the barbs of 2 and made earrings out of them.

A new app on iTunes was brought to my attention to make fly-fishing easier.  The Savvy Fly Tying Tool is a must have for anglers who tie their own flies.  How do you keep track of which flies you have?  Is your tackle box as messy as my fathers?

The Savvy Fly Tying Tool helps:

  • See what fly tying supplies you have on hand at a glance
  • Give you quick access to your favorite fly patterns which you can take a picture of
  • Stores tackle box information with flies to see availability
  • Smart Shopping List helps you create a shopping list based on your favorite flies
    • Helps you keep track of what supplies you need to make your favorite fly patterns
    • Stores the supplies per patterned fly so you buy only what you need

Fly tying is an art that has been around since the 15th Century and there are SO many different ways and patterns to flies.  Why make your art more difficult that it has to be?  Keep track of all of your patterns, flies and more with this new modern day application.

Whether you are on a dream fly-fishing trip to New Zealand or fly-fishing in the ocean catching sail-fish, this app will help keep you organized and catching more fish.

You can purchase the Savvy Fly Tying Tool at the iTunes App Store for here for only $1.99.

6 NEW Bacon Filled Items at Stacked | @FoodWellBuilt #BaconMonth

Bacon Month

Bacon, one of the main reasons why I can never be a vegetarian.  In all seriousness, I have never met a bacon item I haven't liked.  STACKED invited me to their Cerritos location to test out a few new bacon recipes I had never had the pleasure of meeting.

Since my husband is also a huge fan, I felt obligated to share with him... okay, it was a date.

My husband had never had the pleasure of enjoying the Candied Bacon and I wasn't to keen on sharing mine.  Luckily, ALL of the Bacon items were garnished with it.  My husband might have lost a finger or two otherwise.  LOL

Did you know that STACKED has a great selection of Craft Beers?  Try this Beer Rack and see what your favorite is.

Choose 4 to sample out of 16 beers.  I particularly like the Hefeweisen.

We started off with our favorite, the Candied Bacon.  Let it bring you back to dipping your bacon into maple syrup as a kid(and adults).  It melts in your mouth with a perfect crispness.  I could eat it all day.

We all need to eat our vegetables right?  The Southwestern BLT Salad was next with avacado, cheese, corn, tomatoes and candied bacon topped with a spicy chipotle dressing.   I would reccomend dressing on the side unless you really like the heat.

Savannah's Chophouse A Night of Romance and Fun | @SavChopHouse

Laguna Niguel

I recently had a chance to head a little farther South in the OC to try a new(to me) steakhouse for a rare date night with my hubby.  The Savannah Chop House in Laguna Niguel and Gigga Savvy invited us for a promised evening of fun a great food.

We were greeted to a beautiful view and a sunset setting over the ocean.  It was so romantic!  In fact, if you have romance in mind, ask for Table #1 as it has the best view on the outdoor patio which brings out the romance in couples.  Many engagements occurred here.

We started off with refreshments and appetizers that whet our appetite and gave us a preview of the amazing chefs like Chris Tzorin had in store for us.  Salmon, Prosciutto Wrapped Shrimp, and Bruschetta were the top choices of the night.

As we socialized, we were greeted by none other than some of the Knotts Scary Farm Monsters!  What a SHOCK!  With the mood lightened with friendly terror, Chef Tzorin came out and fed us the hard work that went into the feasts of Savannah Chop House.

WIN TICKETS to Wild Kratts LIVE! Coming to the Pantages Theatre | @WildKrattsOffic #Giveaway

With all the TV shows that my kids have been obsessed with, there is one that still holds true more than 4 years later. My kids started out loving the lemur Zooboomafoo and learned so much from his side kicks, the Kratt Brothers, Chris and Martin.

While the show Zooboomafoo has moved on, the Kratt Brothers have evolved into other educational shows such as Kratt’s Creatures, Be the Creature, Wild Kratts and now Wild Kratts LIVE!

There are very few shows that I feel comfortable with my children watching a show day after day with but I feel that they have learned so much from Chris and Martin that I hope they continue for many years to come.

I want to surprise the kids with the Kratt Brothers latest show because unlike the others, it is LIVE! My kids will get a chance to see them in person unlike so many other cartoons.

I am happy to annouce that we are giving away tickets to 1 lucky family so that their kids can experience the wonder of the Kratt Brothers in person as well.

What's New! Stacked Restaurants Signature Meals | @FoodWellBuilt #FoodWellBuilt #Review

I was invited as media to try comped menu items.  All thoughts are my own.

Last week, Erin of Horsing Around in LA and I joined up to try out the new Basil inspired menu items at Stacked. I had only been there one time before for a sports party and I was excited to see what other delights they offered.

My children were intrigued by the iPad ordering computer at the table but were quickly engrossed by the kids menu craft. Have you ever seen Wiki Stix? They are wax covered strings that can be used to create anything that their imagination comes up with. My daughter made glasses.

While the kids were creating, we took a look and ordered some of the starters.  Which should we get?  Drinks, appetizers, or Spirits?  How about a little of all?

Since I was driving, I decided to share a strawberry lemonade with my daughter and a August Special Basil-Strawberry shake with my son.

I was pretty delighted with my drinks until the appetizer came.  O.M.G.!  Did I mention it was CANDIED BACON?  Maple syrup covered bacon goodness!  It melted in out mouths.  Even the kids couldn't get enough!
