Spring Into Kids Fashion at Osh Kosh B'gosh! | @OshKoshBgosh #ImagineSpring #ad

Easter is only a week away and many of us are still looking for the perfect fashions for our kids.  There are so many different options out there and honestly, it is hard to know where to start looking.  We are constantly on the go and often outside so we need durable clothes that can hold up against even my kids.

I usually stumble upon the perfect outfit when I am not expecting it but then find another one and end up buying several.  At least my kids are well dressed right?

When I was invited to check out Osh Kosh B'gosh's latest fashions, my first thought was, where is the closest store?  I used to wear their clothes when I was a kid and wasn't sure they were around anymore.  Luckily, they are!  To find a store near you go their store locator.

I visited the Citadel Outlets, which is where the closest store was to me to see if I needed more clothes(of COURSE).  I was glad I did.

Irvine Park Railroad: Sharing Memories with Friends | @IrvineParkRR #EasterEggstravaganza

Last weekend opened our annual Easter outing at Irvine Park Railroad and we brought along friends who had never been!  It was fun seeing the kids joy for the first time as I did 6 years ago.  The wonder of seeing the Easter Bunny or the pure joy at finding the goodies at the Egg Hunt.

All of these things I have taken for granted since we have been enjoying it for so long.  My kids have grown up at the park and it is amazing at how far we have come.  We were invited by the park to share our fun with everyone and we were happy to share the time with friends as well.

We got to the park early so we could get a spot in the egg hunt for kids 2-12.  We arrived in time to hear the cute jokes that the children and the organizer told and then it was time for the hunt.

Find the Pot O' Cold at Farrell's Ice-Cream Parlour with Irish Goodies | @FarrellsIsBack #PotOCold

Saint Patrick's Day is all about the Luck O' the Irish, leprechaun's and great food.  Farrell's Ice Cream Parlour has put a new spin on both.

Corned Beef and Cabbage is a must in our house every March and it used to be a cut and dry meal with little variation.  Farrell's has turned this family favorite into something even better!  My family and I were invited to try the latest in Farrell's new monthly special menu items and it was a special treat.

My kids have been getting upset with us for leaving them out hubby's and my Farrell's lunch dates and we couldn't put off bringing them any longer.  The thought of "green food" had them excited.

The item of the day was the Blarney Burger with Irish Nachos.  No, they were not green but it did include our corned beef and cabbage with the classic hamburger.  The Irish nachos were delicious and tasted like a twice baked potato.

My kids are not as adventurous and hubby and I and chose the fish and chips.  To put my daughters words to paper, "It was the best fish she had ever had!"  My son actually tried our burgers and ate half of my husbands!  I guess his Irish is coming out in him.

34th Annual Avalon Harbor Cleanup, Healing a Harbor, Healing a Community #Catalina

Avalon Catalina Harbor Cleanup

The Avalon Harbor Cleanup in Catalina is over and it was bittersweet.  This year we brought up more trash out of Avalon Harbor than in any other year but the reason for it was heartbreaking.

In case you hadn't heard, there was a storm on December 30, 2014 that will always be remembered in Catalina as a horrific and heartbreaking night.  That night, while most of us slept on the mainland, the residents of Avalon were fighting to keep their town safe from horrible swells that came up with "Santa Ana Winds"/ North East winds.  The winds brought waves into the otherwise safe harbor causing massive damage to the boats that call the harbor home.

Many people lost not only their boats, which many consider a luxury but even worse, people lost their homes and in two instances, lost their lives. Tim Mitchell and Bruce Ryder were respected members of the Catalina family and will always be remembered.

Tim Mitchell was a Harbor Patrolman, who also captained the King Neptune, one of my favorite SCUBA Dive Boats.   That fateful night, he was trying to save the boat from hitting the rocks and lost his life while the boat smashed to splinters with a handful of other boats.

Bruce Ryder, a long-time diver and resident, lived on his boat and was presumed to have been washed overboard.  His dog had swam ashore to his favorite hangout to find help.

The loss of life was horrific and the bottom of the harbor was littered with debris and personal artifacts from the boats that were lost.  The organizers of the Cleanup encouraged us to locate personal items that might be returned to their owners.

With heavy hearts, we entered the water.

Avalon Catalina Beach Cleanup

The visibility was crystal clear this year unlike most other years we could see about 50 feet in front of us in silted sand.

As we collected debris, we were humbled by the shipwrecks and the trail they left behind.  It hit especially hard when I found a photo album filled with memories.

With our tanks empty and our bags full, we returned to shore to check in with the dive master and see the results of the others.

This year, there was so much debris that the bins had to be emptied and brought back to fill yet again.  This was the first year that I had to leave debris in the water because I couldn't physically carry another piece!  After the stats were out, it broke down into:
  • 900 lbs of metal
  • 1640 lbs of boat parts
  • 400 lbs of trash
  • 427 divers
Some pieces of the boats were recovered by divers that returned after dropping off their bags.  These pieces were easily 10 feet long!

The Knott’s Berry Farm’s Boysenberry Festival is returning to its roots March 28-April 12 in the famous historic Ghost Town and you won't want to miss it! This food festival that many compare to the OC Fair, entices your taste buds with everything boysenberries.

Have you tried the boysenberry turkey legs? It is my family's favorite! Thanks to GigaSavvy, my family was invited to come tickle our taste buds with all the delicious treats. All opinions are my own and I hope that you enjoy it as much as we do!

The festival includes entertainment from sun up to sun down with; dueling fiddlers, Jammin' in the Dark, Peanuts Party in the Park, vine dancing, swing dancing, live music and more all included in the admission to the park.

Trendy Spring Fashions With a Little Price Tag at the Children's Place | @ChildrensPlace #BigFashionLittlePrices #ad

Easter Spring

Spring to me means that it is time for adorable, trendy clothes for my kids for Easter.  Even though my daughter is only 5 going on 15... she definitely has her own sense of fashion.

Where do we go that fits her flashy colorful style?  The Children's Place.  The Children's Place has been our go to store for all of our seasonal and school clothes for about 3 years and the clothes has never let my daughter down.

When I get my invite to check out the latest fashions, the first thing she does is ask to check their website(with my help) to make her wishlist.  I love all the colorful floral prints that lights up my daughters eyes.  Not a fan?  There are plenty of other patterns as well.

Of course you can't get a beautiful Spring dress and not accessorize right?  These headbands and scarves caught my eye but it is the hat that I fell in love with!
