FOOD REVIEW: Blaze Pizza, Custom Made Pizza in 180 Seconds! | @BlazePizza #MissionViejo

Last week, I had the pleasure of eating the best pizza I have had in a LONG time!  What made it so good?  I got to choose what I wanted on it from the bottom up!  Over 35 different options to put on your pizza!

Did I mention that once your pizza is in the oven, it only takes 180 SECONDS to cook?  By the time you pay, get your drink and find a straw, it is done!   It really brings a new meaning to "fast" food.

What is this "do it yourself" pizza place?

RINGLING BROTHERS: Truly the Greatest Show on Earth! | @RinglingBros @HondaCenter

Last week, we were invited to attend the Opening Night of Legends:  Ringling Brothers new show.  What a great family event!  There was something for everyone.

First we were sure to get there early and check out the pre-show that allows the audience to come on stage and participate in fun games, dancing, shows and more!  This is free to all ticket holders so  be sure to come early.

The clowns were my favorite(I never thought I would ever say that after IT!).  They not only were extremely funny, they were amazing acrobats!

CIRCUS FUN: "Popsicles with Pachyderms" | @RinglingBros @HondaCenter #Cops4Kids

Before opening day at the Honda Center, Ringling Brothers invited Anaheim Cops 4 Kids and a few select Feld Entertainment blogger families to a special event to kick off their new show Legends with "Popsicles with the Pachyderms".

The main reason for this event was to give at risk kids a chance to learn more about the conservation efforts and the plight of the elephants.

We learned about training methods, diet and fun facts such as there were over 60 elephants born through the efforts of Feld Entertainment in an effort to increase elephant numbers.

PETS: Huntington Beach Dog Beach: Take Your Dogs Swimming!

While I post a lot about our family outdoor adventures, one of our family members gets left out a lot lately.  Out dog Brittany!

She loves coming camping with us and LOVES hiking!  One of her favorite past times is going to the Dog Beach in Huntington Beach.

In case you didn't know, there is a small stretch of beach set aside for dog owners and their fur-babies to enjoy the beach and water off-leash(if well behaved).  This beach is between Bolsa Chica and Golden West Blvd, just North of the Huntington Beach pier.

WHALE WATCHING: On the Search for the Brydes Whales | @HarborBreezeC @AquariumPacific #LongBeach

It is that time of the year again, time to search our local waters for the largest animal that has EVER inhabited the earth, the Blue Whale!  New on the agenda, the Brydes (Broo-tus) whale.

This warm water whale is so rare that only 12 have EVER been seen off our coasts and around 100 elsewhere!  The Brydes Whale looks like a small Fin Whale and may have been mistaken in the past as a juvenile Fin Whale.

The M/V Triumphant of Harbor Breeze Cruises and the Aquarium of the Pacific invited our family and other media this week to see if we could spot one of these elusive creatures.  My kids were so excited to get a chance to see the whales and they love being on the water.

We saw such a variety of wildlife!  From Common Dolphins, Bottlenose Dolphins, sea-lions, harbor seals, Mola Mola(Sunfish), to finally... the Blue Whale!

RIVER RAFTING: Part 2 The American River with Children 5+ | @WWExcitement #AmericanRiver

DISCLOSURE:  We received free rafting trips for the purpose of this review.  All ideas and thoughts are my own.
As we got settled into our campsite at the White Water Excitement Base Camp, we started thinking about our rafting trips that we were going on the next day.

We were a little nervous because not only would it be our kids first trip but ours as well.  Would they be safe?  Would they get scared?  What would the rapids be like?  You see, it wasn't just the kids first rafting trip but my hubby's and mine as well!  We really didn't know what to expect.

We met at the camp store and filled out the release and safety forms and met our guide, Anna.  She was knowledgeable, friendly and put our minds at ease.  Our raft was already on top of the van and all that were missing were us.

The first trip that we were taking that day was The Young Rafters Adventure.  It is for families with kids that are too young for the regular rafting trips.  It was less than a 5 minute drive to Coloma State Historic Park, the birthplace of Sutter's Mill and where gold was first discovered.  Our trip was about 5 miles downstream and ended up at their South Fork Basecamp.

RIVER RAFTING: White Water Excitement is the Perfect Family Campsite/Rafting | @WWExcitement #AmericanRiver

Our Northern California road-trip was a great way to find out how close a family can get for the good and the bad.  The worst part of our trip was keeping our kids happy and occupied on the 7 hour drive to our main destination.  The best part?  The destination!

Where were we headed?  The South Fork of the American River!   Just minutes away from Sutter's Mill.  The purpose of our trip was to experience River Rafting for the first time!  Since we have a young family, we weren't sure if our 5 and 7 year old would be able to experience it or were they too young?

After doing some research, we found the perfect River Guide company in White Water Excitement!  Not only did they have several class 1 and 2 rapids trips perfect for our young rafters, they also had wonderful riverside campsite.

WATER SHOW: The Fanfare at the San Pedro Gateway | @PortofLA @SanPedroToday

With the nights so nice in Summer, why end the family activities after the sun goes down?

There is a great activity in San Pedro that is open day and night(until 8-9pm check schedule)!  The Fanfare at the San Pedro Gateway provides great family fun right next to the Battleship Iowa!

When we visit San Pedro, often we see a spectacular water show that rivals those of Las Vegas at the foot of the Vincent Thomas Bridge. My kids had begged me to stop and ride the trolley and watch the music choreographed show.

BRAVO FARMS: Old Fashioned Fun on a Long Road Trip! | @BravoFarms #KettlemanCity

Last week, my family and I went on a roadtrip.  A little daunting since my children don't sit well for long periods of time.  After doing research, we decided that we were going to do something that none of us had done before, river-rafting!

I had thought that at 5 and 7, my kids might be too young but after looking around, I found out that the American River is a great place to explore for children of all ages!

We embarked on our trip up to Northern California on early Thursday morning.  Even with movie players, car games, iPads and coloring books on hand, we eventually had to stop for gas and lunch.

As we pulled into an In N Out for lunch, my kids begged to go see the cows on the other end of the parking lot in Kettleman City, CA off the 5.  I had thought they saw live cows as we had passed thousands along the way.

To stretch our legs, we trekked over to what looked at first glance to be an old western cowboy town.  Upon closer inspection, it was actually Bravo Farms.

Bravo Farms is a quaint series of buildings that include a BBQ pit, Assay office, General Store, Shooting Gallery, Ice-Cream shop, Candy shop, Playhouses and more!  It even included a cute little dog park for our furry children.

LA ZOO: Family Jam with Rio 2 | @LAZoo #Rio2 #FamilyJam @FHEInsiders

What else are families supposed to do on a Saturday night other than get wild!?! Well, okay, let me expand on that a little because we all know we’re passed our wild college Saturday nights. We got wild at Family Jam at the L.A. Zoo with Rio 2.

Our night began with a scavenger hunt that would lead us through the new exhibit, Rainforest Of The Americas. Each clue inspired by Rio 2 lead us to an area in the exhibit where we had to find a Zoo volunteer wearing a blue feather. There, we had to give the correct answer to the clue before we moved on. This was a fun way for kids to learn more about the rain forest because the answers could be found on the information boards near each location. The next time you visit the zoo, I’d encourage you to make your own little scavenger hunt with your family. Challenge each other to see who can discover more. Through this scavenger hunt, we learned about giant lily pads, strangler fig trees (my favorite), red-bellied piranhas (insanely cool fish), toucans, and more!

REVIEW: Planes: Fire and Rescue | @Disney #Fireand Rescue #DisneyPlanes

Last night, we were invited to a sneak preview of the new Disney movie, Planes: Fire and Rescue!  I had high hopes for the movie but cringed thinking it might be just another Cars remake, in the skies.

The first Planes movie was cute but a little redundant of the Cars movies.  This new chapter in the Planes movies definitely delivered a great realist(ish) story that almost made you forget that you were watching talking planes and cars.

Dusty Crophopper starts a new adventure as a Smoke Jumper plane to help out some old friends and face new-found fears.  As Dusty learns the ropes, he learns that it doesn't matter who you were in the past, it matters who you are now!

PET SAFETY: Snake Avoidance Classes at Bass Pro Shops | @Bass_Pro_Shops #RanchoCucamonga

Snakes!  Many people are afraid of being bit by a snake, myself included.  I am not afraid of the ones that I can see but of the ones that I may not see while out camping and hiking with my children and dogs.

We often bring our dog, Brittany, with us camping and I worry that she might not see them either!  While anti-venin is a cure, it is often not available in a timely manner for your pets.

There is a vaccination that pets can receive to build up an immunity to snake bites but it must be built up over many administrations and that can get expensive.  It is also only good for the specific kind of snake that it is for.

What else is there?  Snake avoidance training for your dogs!  Why?
  • It teaches the dog to alert to the sights, sounds and smell of snakes
  • It is relatively inexpensive
  • Many companies have free follow-up training annually
I took my Brittany to the Bass Pro Shop snake avoidance class and was very impressed by the way they handled the session.

KNOTTS: Three New Rides at Camp Snoopy! | @Knotts #KnottsSummer

Last week, I was invited to share the 3 new rides at Camp Snoopy with my family.  Seeing Knott's Berry Farm through my eyes and my kids eyes are always SO different!

I used to think that I will always have to grow up at some point but really?  Do I have to?  I really enjoyed going on the new rides at Camp Snoopy.

The three new rides are:
  • Linus' Launchers
  • Charlie Brown's Kite Flyers
  • Pigpen's Mud Buggies
Since my kids are 5 and 7 now, they start talking about what ride in Camp Snoopy they want to go on first days before we actually go. When I told them that they had 3 new rides to choose from, the talks sky-rocketed!  Their excitement is adorable but a little repetitive. LOL

On Linus' Launchers, my little guy got dizzy and had to sit out for a bit before asking to go on it again... 4 more times!

REVIEW: Free Care Bears Learning App | @CareBearsFriend #carebears #lovetolearn #ad

Over the summer, it is hard to fit in the learning that our kids need!  I am always looking for ways to keep my kids learning and fun at the same time.

We recently purchased iPads for our kids because their schools are expecting them now.  Some of the schools provide them but most don't.  In the last year or so, my 7 year old has learned in leaps and bounds just from the educational "games" that we have downloaded.
