GREAT DEALS: Westminster Goodwill is Open w/ Designer Purses & Great Deals! | @OCGoodwill #Westminster #ad

Last week, I attended the Grand Opening of Goodwill's latest store in Westminster.  WOW!  I have been to a lot of Goodwill stores because I love a great deal and this store went above and beyond a good deal!

I got a sneak peak for a half hour before the crowd of 200 people came into the store and then I understood why there were so many people waiting! The quality of the products, purses especially, were mind-blowing!

After the store was officially opened, by the Mayor of Westminster and the OC Goodwill CEO, the crowd converged.  The first item you saw when you entered was this spectacular NEW Huffy woman's cruiser!  I LOVED it!

SUMMER FUN: New Rides & Summer Shows at Knotts! | @Knotts #KnottsSummer #KnottsMineRide #CampSnoopy

With Summer here, so are the new Summer rides at Knott's Berry Farm!

Last week I got to check out the 3 new Camp Snoopy rides and received a special golden ticket for the re-opening of Knott's famous Calico Mine Ride!

This year marks the 34th Anniversary of Camp Snoopy and on hand were Darrell Anderson (Grandson of Walter and Cornelia Knott), Craig Schultz(Son of Charles Schultz) and the whole Peanuts Gang!  They gave us an idea of what it was like to grow up in Ghost Town as characters and live first hand with Snoopy and the Gang from the start.

HIDDEN BEACH: Royal Palms State Beach- Fishing, Tide-pools and More! #SanPedro

Since my son joined Cub Scouts,  we have been doing even MORE outdoor activities.  I am rediscovering parks and beaches that I see differently now that I have kids.

The park and beach I am featuring this week is called Royal Palms.

Royal Palms sits on the cliff-side of San Pedro.  While the playground itself is small, for a small parking fee, you can drive right down to the beach.  While there is not a lot, if any, sand, there is plenty else to do at this hidden tide-pool paradise.

Before I had children, I worked for the Marine Mammal Center which releases the rehabilitated sea lions and seals here.  You can find out more about the Marine Mammal Center by checking out their website, here.

What do we do now that we have children?  My husband spear fishes, we SCUBA dive, surf and most important to my children, shore fish and go tide-pooling!  There are often family photo-shoots done here as it hold much natural beauty.

Summer starts for us at the end of this week.  While we are going to go camping and do fun over-night trips into nature, we plan on visiting one of our fun fall backs for outdoor fun.

I am talking about Irvine Park Railroad.  The hiking is great for the younger kids as it is not too difficult and the paddle boats are always a favorite on a hot summer day.

NATURAL WATERSLIDES: California's Natural Water Fun

This Summer, our bucket list includes experiencing more natural wonders in California.  One of our goals is to check out at least 1 natural water-slide.

The following 5 natural water-slides are of different difficulties and each must be thoroughly researched before attempting.  Please know your limitations.

Alder Creek Water Slides

The water slides at Alder Creek are one of the best-hidden attractions in the Kern River Valley. This area is about an hour drive from Kernville, and a short 20-30 minute easy walk to the slides from the parking area across the street. The area is difficult to find the first time, so bring someone with you and study a map before leaving. When you get there, there are several slides you can enjoy. It's a great spot to spend a hot summer day. The water is near freezing, even in the summer, and the rocks are very slick, so please be careful!

To get to Alder Creek, travel North from Kernville on Mountain Highway 99/Sierra Way. About 1/2 mile past Johnsondale, turn right on Lloyd Meadow Rd, FR 22S82. Drive until you see a parking area on the right, and a closed-off dirt road on the left. This road is just before Peppermint Campground, so if you hit the campground you've gone too far. Park and walk up this dirt road about 3/4 of a mile. Look for a small trail that branches off downhill on the right side. Follow this trail to the water.

TRUTH or DARE: The Truth Behind Writing for My Blog

I have been asked about why my blog only has positive experiences on it.  Do I write truthfully?  How do my readers know if I am writing from a personal experience with truth?  Do I get paid for positive posts only?

While I do write occasionally for "sponsored" posts, I have not and will not ever write a post dishonestly.

When I started writing my blog almost 2 years ago, I decided that I wanted a positive place where parents can check for the best places to go and have a great time with their families.  If someone asks me to review a product or event and we don't have the experience promised, I would rather not waste my time, energy and negativity on it.
