Scout-O-Rama: Fun Filled Day for All Ages, All Are Invited! | @BoyScouts #ScoutORama

SCOUT-O-RAMA 2014 BRINGS LARGEST ALL-AGES OUTDOOR SCOUTING EVENT TO ORANGE COUNTY

As an Akela(cub-scout adult leader) in my son's Tiger Cub den, we are always on the lookout for fun and educational activities for the kids.  One of the events that we look forward to each year is the Scout-O-Rama.

What is the Scout-O-Rama?  It is an action filled day, open to people of all ages.  It has more than 250 exciting exhibits, games, adventures and live demonstrations fun for the whole family.

“Scout-O-Rama is the biggest Scouting event of the year in Orange County and we’re excited to bring this event to the Orange County community,” said Jeff Herrmann, President and Scout Executive of the OCBSA. “The event allows us to share the core values and skills of Scouting in a fun and engaging manner.”

This weekend, the Orange County Council, Boy Scouts of America (OCBSA) will host its annual Scout-O-Rama event on Saturday, May 10 at the Oak Canyon Park in Silverado, Calif. from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Scout-O-Rama events include games, demonstrations, cooking activities, rock wall and monkey climbing, a dunk tank, box hockey, and Hot Wheels ® car racing, among others.

“The motto of the event is Lead, Inspire, Explore, which is meant to highlight all of the experiential outdoor activities that kids and their families can enjoy throughout the day,” said John Lerch, co-chair of Scout-O-Rama. “For Scouts, the best way to find out what they do best is to do it, and that doing is the focus of Scout-O-Rama.”
